A case study in design-build coordination: transforming an ordinary employee entrance and break area into a calm, curated, architectural courtyard with water, planting, boulders, palms, and a custom living wall.
The goal of this project was to elevate an everyday commercial environment into something remarkable — creating a place that welcomes employees each day and offers a restorative setting during breaks.
The courtyard needed to feel lush, inviting, and architectural. Planted elements were not treated as decoration, but as part of the composition: softening scale, guiding movement, creating depth, and bringing living texture to a clean modern setting.
This project shows how Elevation translates a design story into a built outcome — aligning layout, materials, irrigation, planting, water, boulders, and field execution as one integrated system.
The courtyard balances strong architectural lines with lush planting, sculptural boulders, palms, succulents, water, and a vertical garden that becomes the visual anchor of the space.
The space combines vertical planting, tropical structure, water, stone, and modern commercial architecture to create a calmer and more memorable workday arrival experience.

Commercial projects require more than a pretty concept. They require layout clarity, sequencing, irrigation planning, material coordination, planting strategy, access awareness, and field decisions that protect the design intent.
Creating a courtyard that feels intentional, calm, and restorative instead of simply landscaped.
Using the vertical garden as an architectural focal point rather than a decorative afterthought.
Combining hard surfaces, boulders, water, palms, succulents, and living texture into one cohesive composition.
Planning for everyday use, maintenance realities, irrigation, and long-term plant performance.
Elevation works at the intersection of both. Our role is to protect the design intent while solving the practical details that determine whether a built environment feels as good as it looked in concept.
For commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential projects, we support custom assemblies, living systems, irrigation, planting, materials, layout, sequencing, and field coordination.
Projects like Modern Machine require thoughtful planning before field work begins. We help clarify intent, coordinate systems, and execute the details that shape the final experience.
Understand the feeling, purpose, users, and functional needs of the space.
Plan living wall strategy, irrigation, planting, hardscape, water, and access.
Execute the design with field awareness, sequencing, and material coordination.
Support the long-term health, appearance, and experience of the finished project.
If you are planning a living wall, commercial courtyard, hospitality feature, or biophilic design-build project, we can help evaluate the opportunity and guide the next step.
“The best commercial landscapes do more than decorate. They change how people arrive, gather, pause, and remember a place.”
